The Tung Chung West Section tunnel under the project will be constructed using a Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM). According to the tradition of tunnel construction, the TBM must be named prior to launching to wish the project success. Therefore, we have organised a naming competition inviting everyone to name this TBM which belongs to the Tung Chung community. Those of you who have not yet participated, remember to submit your entry online before 31 October this year. Winners will receive prizes including MTR Mall vouchers up to $1,000 and a certificate!

To stand out, here are some “tips” for you: traditionally, TBM are named after women, such as legendary women or goddesses. If you need some inspiration, consider visiting the competition’s webpage to learn more about the Tung Chung Line Extension project and the characteristics of the TBM itself!
