Extending Warmth by Caring the Community

The Tung Chung Line Extension Team fully supports the “Yat Tung Summer Sunshine Caring Activities” launched on 14 August 2024 by the Tung Chung Living Network, Islands District Committee of the New Territories Association of Societies, and the Islands District Care Team. Legislative Council member Hon Kwok Wai-keung, Islands District Council member Mr Lau Chin Pang and Senior Liaison Officer of the Islands District Office Mr Gary Au, together with volunteers from the project team, visited two households in Yat Tung Estate to deliver care and warmth to the community. On 23 September 2024, the project team also joined hands with local volunteers to pack goodie bags and visited residents to offer our best wishes.

Reaching Out to the Community to Celebrate Mid-Autumn

The Mid-Autumn Festival is a time of joyful reunion of family and friends. The Tung Chung Line Extension project team joined hands with 60 primary students of the Salvation Army Lam Butt Chung Memorial School and painted dozens of unique lanterns. With the help of the representative of Ma Wan Chung Village and volunteers from the Hong Kong Community Heritage Foundation, the village was decorated with the colourful festive lanterns. The project team also supported the Mid-Autumn Festival activities at Tung Chung Crescent to share the festive joy with the residents.

Supporting Traditional Cultural Activities

The MTR Corporation has always respected traditional cultural activities. The Tung Chung Line Extension project team continues to support the annual Hau Wong Festival to deepen its ties with the community.

Other MTR new railway projects were also sharing the joy with the community during the Mid-Autumn Festival, to read more:
